Lori Faerber, Cello
Biography:
Lori started piano at the age of nine. She has four older brothers who also took piano lessons long before her. Having heard all the piano pieces before, she moved very quickly through the books. In fifth grade she decided to play violin and the her mothers violin was fixed up for her. She broke that violin in middle school and glued it back together, not knowing that was the beginning of her repair career, but she was always building shelves and bird houses, clubhouses and doll furniture when she was young. She switched to cello in High School, as there were not enough cello players, and the conductor thought she could pick it up quickly. As she says, something ‘clicked’: “A love affair began that has never stopped amazing me.” She had full tuition music scholarships to attend college, receiving both her bachelors of arts and masters of science in 1987 and 1990 from Weber State University and the University of Utah.
