Biography:
Andrea has been playing violin as well as other stringed instruments for over 20 years.  She received her bachelors Degree in Classical Violin Performance from Belmont University and then continued to perform live around Nashville while touring with various bands, and artists  performing in classical ensembles as well as other venues.  She also gained experience teaching and managing a string shop where she found her niche in the studio, composing, and recording string arrangements for various artists.  Andrea has recently moved to Austin and hopes to continue her music career here.  In addition to her performance and studio work, Andrea loves teaching.  She has the most experience teaching beginners and intermediate levels using a fun approach to classical music and music theory. She uses a mixture of various methods, fiddle and other styles.

Lesson Information:
Private Lessons 30 minutes or longer depending on the ability level and need of the student.
Recital twice a year, Group duet pieces given for the recital
Teach all ages, preferably over 7 including adults. (It’s never too late to learn.) She also has experience with student with injuries and learning disabilities.

Andrea likes to teach music theory right away.  She uses various method books.  For students who have started with a different teacher she assesses the level and continues them on according to their needs. She uses Whistler, Applebaum, Trott, and Kreutzer
